Although smaller than the metropolises of Vancouver and Calgary, Kelowna has some things that those cities don’t — Okanagan Lake and vineyards as far as the eye can see for a starter. The best way to enjoy the city is to experience it as a local by checking out some of these activities and attractions in our Kelowna hotel guide.
1. Do the Town on Two Wheels
The Okanagan is a great place to put your pedal to the metal. Whether you’re a mountain bike enthusiast, a cruiser, or want to pretend you’re in the Tour de France riding in the peloton, you’ll feel right at home cycling with the locals in Kelowna.

From symphonic to opera to rock, Kelowna is known as a great music town. Whether you want to catch a free summer concert at Parks Alive or see a big-ticketed event at Prospera Place or the Kelowna Community Theatre, you’ll find no shortage of venues and shows in town.

Known as the Napa of the North, Kelowna and the Okanagan is not only known for producing world-renowned wines, it is also becoming known for its microbreweries and distilleries. Many Kelowna establishments offer tasting rooms and even eateries, where you can wash down your ale with some delectable local cuisine.
